For over a century the Alliance has brought to life the Passion play theatre which is a very old tradition in Amiens. Following on in the same manner as the players of the Middle Ages, the troop enacts for their audience the drama that took place in Palestine showing that it is not simply an historical event, but that it should be seen as relevant to each one of us today. Each year the troop puts on a new and original play based on Christ’s Passion, always written especially for them. Each new play manages to find a new slant on the theme by inviting humour as a vector to convey the ever present message of the Gospel.
