On Good Friday, faith, tradition and history go together in this part of the Basilicata. On this day the whole country proudly and passionately relives its history. It’s about preserving a tradition that constitutes the natural history of this people. That’s what His Holiness John Paul II said on 11th May 1983 , in the Holy Year of the Salvation, after the performance of the Passion of Christ by people from Barile had followed the Via della Conciliazione and arrived on Piazza San Pietro.
