Europassion 2024 - Day 2

Recap of day 2 of the Europassion 2024 congress in Rumania

The second day of the Europassion 2024 congress started at Kegy Church in Csíksomlyó with a concert by the Children‘s Philharmonic of Szentegyháza. More than 120 young musicians and singers performed traditional folk songs from all over Europe.

The concert was followed by the Pro-Urbe award giving ceremony, in which Josef Lang, former secretary general of Europassion, was awarded the price for his relentless dedication to the tradition of passion plays in Europe and the decades-spawning friendships he has build in our community.

After several words of greetings by political and church representatives and the current head of Europassion Thomas Hummel, the event came to a close with a concert by the Codex Early Music Ensemble.

Before leaving the church the congress participants posed for a group picture in front of the statue of the Holy Mary.

The afternoon was spent at the open-air museum in Gyimes. The congress participants had the chance to enjoy local food, traditional folk music and get to know the rich history of the Hargita region.
