The theatre of the Passion of Nancy was founded in 1904 by the abbé Petit, based on the Passion of Oberammergau and with its special authorisation, in order to finance the completion of the new church Saint Joseph. The Passion of Nancy evokes the last days of Christ, his Via Crucis, his resurrection and sending the apostels on the mission. In 2005, 2007 and 2008, the actors of Nancy performed extracts of the Passion in churches in Nancy and Belfort (on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the town). That type of performance will probably be repeated.

Nancy
