Jesus’ passion and resurrection 2000 years ago – the suffering of each individual today. The message of Jesus Christ of that time still gives hope, still applies today and is still salutary for the people of today.
The Schönberg Passion plays in the German-speaking region of Belgium demonstrate parallels. The scenes from the gospel performed by about 50 amateurs transport the spectator to the historical Palestine at the time of Jesus. In a unique way they hold a mirror up in front of today’s people. By showing scenes from everyday life, they raise questions and encourage people to meditation and to a sane dealing with their own faith.
