The plays in 2022 were focused on the 100th anniversary of this tradition and provided a series of innovations. The play will took place in the open air in front of the church in St. Georgen. The libretto and the artistic concept have been reworked. The new version also tried to shed a brighter light on the women in Jesus Christ’s life and established the Seven Deadly Sins as new allegorical villainous characters. The inclusion and expansion of certain characters helped create a more contemporary staging while also staying true to the roots of Austrian folk theatre.
