To the greatest honor of God and for the religious renewal of our parish and our homeland

this is how, in 1933, the parish of St. Margarethen pledged to perform the "Play of the Sufferings and Death of Jesus Christ 2 every ten years. Since 1961, the parish has been staging the "Passion", every five years, on the unique scenery of the Roman Quarry.

In the new staging of the Passion Play in St. Margarethen, the life of Jesus is told by the Emmaus disciples. After the death on the cross of their beloved Jesus, the disciples of Emmaus meet Jesus alive, in the form of the Risen One. They gain a new perspective on the events and help us today to understand the life and work of Jesus in a new way.
